The region of Corrèze sits on the western corner of the Massif Central. Within the area, you can find two major rivers: Dordogne and Vézère. The damning of them has produced many artificial lakes. You can visit these if you decide to come to this area. On the hills above the Vézère River sits the grey-slated roofs of Uzerche. Here you can visit the Romanesque Church of St. Peter. All that remains is the 13th century Clock Tower and the 11th Tower of Caesar. Consider remaining for at least a weekend. Corrèze then reveals its treasures, including the 18th century Chapelle des Capucins. At Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, try to time your visit to coincide with the Strawberry Festival. Be sure to visit the Romanesque Abbey of St. Peter and wander the riverbank to see the 17th and 18th century homes. Corrèze can then become an integral part of your vacation in France.
