What you need to know before traveling to Drôme

Some people come to Drôme to see the Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval. This is a very eccentric palace built by a local postman. In Montélimar, the streets are full of shops full of almond-filled nougat. The town of Montélimar also features the Château des Adhémar from the 12th, 14th and 16th centuries. There is a Renaissane mansion – Maison des Têtes (1532). As the name suggests, the house features sculpted heads of famous Greeks. Across the river, is the Château de Crussol. You may also be able to visit the medieval hill village of La-Bégunde-de-Mazenc, the small medieval village of Le Poët Laval and the fortified village of Taulignan.
