Plougonvelin is a quiet seacoast town in the north western part of France. It is small and quaint

known for its fishing and charming village. There are lovely monastery ruins here, called Pointe Saint Mathieu, which include an old lighthouse. Fort Bertheaume, which offers guided tours of the fort and an outdoor theatre, is worth a visit. The adventurist can ride a zip line across the water from Fort Bertheaume.
