The small town of Marsolan is found in the Gers department of southwestern France. The department was created from the former Guyenne and Gascony provinces in 1790, and today the residents are called les Gersois. When you visit Marsolan or stay in your EasyToBook.com hotel there, you may hear bits of the local dialect, Gascon. It is an Occitanian language that is a remnant of the waves of immigrants that have moved through the area. But don’t worry, French is spoken in the town as well.

While visiting the area in summer, be prepared for the heat. Gers has some of the hottest temperatures in France. The region is considered to be the least densely populated in France, so you can expect lots of open countryside around Bias and the region. Stop in the nearby village of Lupiac to visit the museum dedicated to Gersois d’Artagnan, the fourth musketeer created by Alexandre Dumas. Be sure to enjoy some of the gastronomic delights from the region while in Bias, such as Armagnac brandy, foie gras, and wild mushrooms.
