I was lucky enough to celebrate my birthday on the night of our arrival. our room over-looked the little courtyard, the sun was shining brightly through the large open window and the scent of the roses wafted in. we sat in front of that window drinking and "nibbling" and watched the local cats frolic over the neighbouring rooftops. it was quite perfect.
Only that, on checking out, my credit card would not work which was a bother has we had to use our cash, and the lady at the desk who was russian was unable to explain why - partly my fault, though, as my french was unequal to the task
