One of the most favourite things to do in Bordeaux is the shopping and this can be done in Rue Ste-Catherine. More than a kilometre in length, this is the busiest street in Bordeaux that is dedicated entirely to your shopping pleasure. Entirely pedestrianized, this is also considered to be one of the oldest thoroughfares in the town.

In the earlier times of the Romans, the Rue Ste-Catherine was major north to south road. Its importance in current times is by no means diminished because it still links the Grand Theatre to the Place de la Victoire. The street got its name since the 18th century and it was in the honour of the martyred saint, Sainte Catherine, who has a chapel built for her near where the shopping street is located. So, if shopping is one of the things to do in Bordeaux that is in your plans during your visit, then don't fail to visit the bustling Rue Ste-Catherine, where you can probably get the best bargains within its stalls.
