Neuf-Brisach is located not far from the German city of Alt-Breisach, just east of Colmar. The city is located on an 80-meter high rock overlooking the Rhine River. Life revolves around the Rhine River which is about 4km from the outskirts of the city. Built at the end of the 17th center, with a population of 2,200, its unique star shaped design has dubbed it a model defensive system of its time. One of its main attractions is the Vauban Museum which has a 3-D model of the town describing its unusual architecture. The Royal Church Saint-Louis stands as a picturesque structure in this charming town. In the nearby town of Colmar, the Unterlinden Museum is probably the most famous attraction where you can see a combination of old and modern art exhibitions.
