What you need to know before traveling to Haute Garonne

Along the Garonne River, you find a diverse scene of ancient architecture and natural beauty. This is the region of Haute-Garonne. While some arrive at Haute-Garonne to visit the archaeological site of Montmaurin with its Gallo-Romano villa and museum, others are here for the churches and the museums. There is the spa of Barbazon and the views from the market town of St. Gaudens. Haute-Garonne shows them St. Bertrand-des-Commings with its Cathedral of St. Mary and the four uneven barrel-vaulted roof of St. Just de Valcabrère. You can remain in the region for a weekend. Haute-Garonne is worth the time spent here. In Toulouse, there is the Fondation Bemberg, a 16th century palace containing Bemberg’s work. There is also the 11-12th century Romanesque Basilica of St. Germain. You can visit a “Space Park” and see the “Gothic masterpiece” Les Jacobins Church.
