Annecy is a city in east central France located 22 miles south of Geneva, on the Lake Annecy shores. You'll find a lot of interesting things to do and see here especially in the summer. The summer months are busy in Annecy with June having a 6-day animation festival, July hosting the Noctibules festival for 4 nights and the first week of August bringing the Lake Festival. This festival is huge and more than 100,000 visitors come to see the fireworks and enjoy the attractions by the lake.
Annecy has more than just festivals, however, as you'll find hiking, swimming and biking very popular here as well as shopping in the many boutiques. Although the summer months are the busiest in Annecy, many choose to come here in September when it has less people and the mountain views are better. Some of the attractions you'll want to see are the Champ de Mars, Chateau Museum, which is a huge castle, Basilica of the Visitation, an enormous and beautiful church and the Gardens of Europe.
