 "Probably the ugliest building in Chamonix"
The Alpina is nothing special but I haven't got anything particularly bad to say about it either. It's a bit shabby but generally clean. Initially stayed in a Brevant view room - very small and uninteresting. Then swapped to a Mont Blanc view - worth the extra money for the space and view. It's worth choosing the Alpina if you want to save a few Euros as it manages to keep its prices lower than most other hotels in Chamonix .

 "Sovietic quality rooms"
The hotel amenities were ok, but the room miserable. Tiny, old carpets, broken window frame, crooked door, thin walls (0% soundproof). The only possibility to optimise the space even further would be to put the shower over the toilet. Not recommendable for a longer stay.

Pros: Very central location. lovely bar area with log fire & comfortable seating. rooms good size. excellent buffet on sunday night.
Cons: No ski boot warmers.

Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. good to have ski hire within the hotel at a reasonable rate. rooms clean and looked after
Cons: Room was bit too small. couldn't adjust radiator, so it was too warm in the mornings (couldn't open window properly)
