A small cable car allows visitors to descend from the train station onto the Mer de Glace glacier where they can enter the man made ice grotto. The grotto features a collection of ice sculptures and caves inside a giant glacier. Facilities are very good and include a restaurant, café, souvenir shop and alpine museum. There is also a wine bar if you want to stop by and have a glass of one of the wines they’re pouring that day.
