The series of apparitions that Bernadette saw in the miraculous cave in the town of Lourdes did not happen in just a year of her lifetime. At the time when she started having these visions, she was living in a small house, which can be found a few streets away from her original family home. Known as the Cachot, this house is now one of the Lourdes attractions that are being swarmed by tourists every year.

The Cachot may just be a typical example of the common structures in a mountain town, but it has a charm all its own, which is compounded by the fact that this where Bernadette lived during the time of her apparitions. The property gained interest when the pilgrims started flooding the town, resulting in its becoming one of the Lourdes attractions that have gained quite a great number of visitors over the years.
