Place de la Comedie Montpellier

The Place de la Comedie is considered as the heart and soul of Montpellier. It got its name from the first theatre ever built in the city during the 18th century. Set right on the site of what is now known as the Opera, the expansive square has always been the preferred location for daily street entertainment and major open-air shows. The fountain of the Three Graces, which can be found at the centre of the square, right underneath the beautiful facades of the 19th century structures that surround it, is one of the reason why the square is one of the most popular Montepellier attractions.
