      Ille et Vilaine Details

Brittany, and all it has to offer, is open to a visitor to the le-et-Vilaine. In this region, many travelers visit the remains of the original forest that once thickly covered the land. Some people, in hopes of finding the magical spring, wander in le-et-Vilaine to seek out this forest, the Forest of Paimpont or Brocéliande. They are following the enchanted trail of Merlin and Arthur. le-et-Vilaine is then, truly, a magical place for their continued explorations. If you can spare a weekend, le-et-Vilaine has a fort by Vaubon at St. Malo. There is also the 15th century Grande Porte, the Château de St. Malo (14th -15 century) and St. Vincent Cathedral. Nearby Saint-Malo, you can visit the Tour Solidor, in St. Servan. This is a three towered, former Toll House. Also near Saint Malo are two small forts on islands. These are Le Grand Bé and Le Petit Bé. Near St. Malo, you can also find several excellent beaches including Grande Plage.
