Chinon is located in the Centre region of France on the north bank of the Vienne River in the Loire Valley. One of the most popular attractions in the town, as well as in France, is the Château de Chinon. While little remains of this medieval castle is still worth visiting for its connection to Joan of Arc. Nearby this site are the Tour Coudray, which was used to imprison Templar knights, and the Tour de l'Horloge, with a small museum. There are several museums in town, as well, including the Musée des Amis du Vieux and the Maison de la Rivière. After your explorations are done, enjoy a fine glass of wine in the cellar environment of the Caves Peinctes.
