What you need to know before traveling to Jura

The Jura Mountain range is much smoother than its rougher Alpine cousin. This makes it easier for those who want to hike or bike in the hills. Some come to Jura to make a longer trek while others prefer to remain on pine-covered slopes. Meanwhile, some visitors partake in the wine of Arbois. They plan their way in the region for a week or a weekend. Jura then shows them the panorama views of its mountains and the cool waters of its lakes. In the winding valley, travelers make their way to Dole. Here they follow the narrow twisting streets to see the 15th century houses. Dole is also home to the Notre Dame Church with a 16th century bell tower. Jura then leads them along the road to Pontalier. You can use this as a base for hikes, bike rides and horse back riding into the region around it.
