Angers is a city located in France, 300 km southwest of Paris. It's located in an area known as Anjou. With a population of 150,000 in the city and 270,000 in the metropolitan section, this is a large city with plenty to do and see. Angers is located on both banks of the Maine and is joined by six bridges. All along this area, you'll find market gardens and nurseries. Cut flowers and fresh produce are widely seen in Angers. The Cathedral of Saint-Maurice is a huge and ancient château that you'll want to see. Other churches of beauty and history are St. Serge, a 12th and 15th century church and La Trinité. This is a city that is very rich in ancient cathedrals and churches, most of them with huge towers. The Logis Barrault is a mansion that was built in the 1400's and now holds the Muse des Beaux-Arts, a collection of sculptures and paintings. Other sites of interest are the L'Université Catholique de l'Ouest, a Catholic University and the state university, Université d'Angers.
