One of the attractions that make up the tourism of Saumur is the Musee des Blindes. This tank museum is definitely a must-see for any armour enthusiast. Located just near the town centre, the museum can be easily found because of the well-set signposts that could be seen from the visitor information centre.

The Musee des Blindes is said to contain the largest collection of armour exhibits in the world. It has an estimated 200 exhibits that range from the armours of Word War I to the more contemporary battletanks from Israel. Although there are only a few French tanks that can be found here, there are great examples of the King Tiger, Sturmgeschutz III, T34/76 & 85 and the SU 100. As one of the contributors to the tourism of Saumur, it can be expected that the historical interpretations provided in the museum also include one in the English language. A shop selling related military items and a cafe with a vending machine can also be found in the museum.
