Le Mont Saint Michel Hotels and Accommodation

In the gulf of the Saint-Malo, an islet, rocky and somewhat small, in northwestern France, is Le Mont-Saint-Michel. With about 53 inhabitants, this commune is one of France's greatest tourist areas. If you're looking for a retreat for a weekend, Le Mont-Saint-Michel is rich with history. The island is legendary for an account that Saint Michael appeared to a bishop during the 8th century at the famed Abbey at Mont St. Michel, whose structure is built on a ledge which hangs over the cliffs. Not too far, in the Loire Valley, is the Chateau de Chenonceaux, one of France's more well-known castles with an amazing hedge-maze in its grounds. A wonderful nearby place to visit in Rennes is the Thabor, a park filled with exotic species of plant life and trees as well as cages of a variety of birds.
