Our room required walking up four floors and its bath and toilet were in separate rooms off the public corridor. In return we got a view of the roofs of Paris, a reasonable price, and a location near moderately priced restaurants and within walking distance of most major attractions. This is not a Holiday Inn but a quirky bit of old Paris.

Pros: Great location, always someone at the front desk, generally clean and comfortable beds. small rooms, but typical of paris. overall (save for the poor euro-dollar exchange rate) good value.
Cons: Room was not clean when we arrived (2pm) - someone's eaten breakfast was still on table, but to be fair, they did warn us that the room wasn't completely ready (then why did they let us go in?) strange. overcharged for local telephone use.
