 "Great value and location"
This is a good two-star hotel, which in Paris means a basic and (by American standards) small room and minimal services. This is a traditional (read: not recently renovated) hotel in a great location (a quiet street very close to Place de la République) and with a friendly staff. It offers very good value, and I would definitely stay there again, especially when on business.

 "One night in Paris"
Nice hotel in a quiet street. Very gentle personnel. Room and bathroom small but efficient and clean. Evening and early morning: metro noise. Cause of illness we left a day earlier. Canceling a night was no problem.

Hotel was in a good location, close to metro links. However, we were in a very small room at the front of the hotel, very noisy with constant construction. The hotel staff spoke English well. It seemed too expensive for what we got.

 "Does the job"
Thishotel was primarily chosen for its proximity to Le Bataclan; as such it was perfectly fine. The room itself was OK, perhaps slightly tired and old-fashioned, but it was clean, functional and perfectly adequate. The service was fine and it's a reasonable neighbourhood with a couple of nice cafes within a stone's throw. I suppose that the room might be a little uninspiring if you were spending a lot of time in it or were there long term, but I thought it good value for the price.

 "nice'n easy"
I sure do wanna recommend that nice hotel, because of several facts: not only located close to 2 metro stations, also in a convenient neighbourhood with 2 supermarkets (monoprix,franprix) and lovely boulangeries,bistros around- and place de la republique, canal st martin,.. just start a walk from the hotel!the staff at the reception always friendly and ready to help, speaking good englishthe cleaning staff really motivated- the room was clean, quite compfortable and enough for sleeping, the bathroom clean and comfortable as well.I really did appreciate the wireless internet access -with no additional costs! it has to be said that it seems there are thin walls- in the bathroom you could here some of your neighbour and in the morning it got bit noisy because of other guests. But the bed was new and lovely!!Bottom Line: Very good Paris Budget Hotel- nice performance nice price

 "good value hotel, clean and 2 mins to nearest metro"
Stayed with a friend for one night, very impressed with 2 minute walk to republique metro, hotel clean but lift was tiny so problems if taking large luggage in one go. Staff helpful, was just over 60 pounds which was good value for money. Currently building work on building next door so a lie in May be difficult this did not bother me. I would def recommend and go back.

Hotel du Nord et de l'Est is located in the heart of the right bank between the Opera and the Bastille, just a few minutes’ walk from Place de la République, Saint Martin Canal, major department stores, as well as the Marais and Place des Vosges.
