Hotel Glasgow Monceau Paris    

My mother and I stayed in the Hotel Glasgow Monceau for three nights and will say it was a very pleasant stay.My only gribe would be that breakfast is not included in the price and the hotel, are very willing to call taxis for you - but beware, they charge you 1 euro a time for doing so.It is the first time I have been to Paris, and although the hotel seemed to be approx half an hour drive to the sightseeing stops, it would appear to me that wherever you were to stay you would have the same as they are all some distance apart.There is also, not a lot in the way of eateries within walking distance of the hotel.Also, be aware if you are taking taxis the meter ticks over very quickly, even when stuck in traffic. I would therefore suggest that if you are able to, take the metro or bus, they are very regular and it is quite easy to get around.

Pros: 1. the hotel staff are very helpful in providing metro/train information during our stay.
2. even the hotel isn't very close to the metro, it was a stone's throw away from a few bus stops.
3. the bathroom is of a good size.
4. rooms are newly renovated.
Cons: 1. the hotel didn't have power adapter for us to use - we were told to buy it ourselves.
2. the hotel lined up the shuttle service for us but it was a very bad experience. the driver arrived 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled time. we told the front desk that we would be down as fast as we can. we ended up heading down in 15 minutes (which is actually still 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled time) but was told that the driver left. in another 5 min, the driver actually came back for some reason, and we were rudely "asked" to tag along with him to walk to his van. he didn't offer to help us with our luggage at all, and worse, he rushed us while we're trying to speed up after him. he was also a ruthless driver and we didn't feel safe in the car for more than a few times towards the airport.

Pros: Location fine, nice area ... apart from metro, 2 bus routes one runs near north/east rail stations to l'opera; one runs to arc de trimophe.

Pros: Relatively kind staff, clean rooms
Cons: Too small rooms, even renowed hotel building and rooms equipment looks old. it's just for young singles and one-day business travelers needs fast overnight close to etoille.

Pros: Easy access - hotel was within 10mins from a couple of metro stations. good little french bars and bistros close by. rooms although small, which we expected, were clean and tidy.
Cons: Services listed were misleading. did have one satelite tv channel which was not always available and only 2 english speaking channels which were news, but you don't go to paris to watch telly. also booked double room but was first put in twin room with mattresses too big for base so kept falling off. we complained and got moved to one of their newer rooms which was bigger and nicer. also if you are a big man, the shower is way too small.
