"English speaking traveler in Paris"

Firstly there were travel complications causing a route change, it took three hours and a police station to find the hotel. Road construction was a factor, but the hotel street number (72) was not between 100 and 68, it was two miles further down the road (plan on a 15 min walk to the metro and another 15 min on the metro to get to the city center) The receptionist spoke no English, the breakfast was overpriced and sparse. Even though the do not disturb sign was put up on the door room service came in while we were away. The hotel advertises included wi-fi, but not that it is limited and full access requires a charge. The double room was large, bed was acceptable. There was an additional charge of 157 euros for the room after I'd already paid 118 for booking, I have yet to clarify and reverse the second charge. I do not expect much from a hotel as I spend little of my time in the hotel while traveling, but my companion and I were most definitely disappointed.

"The staff were helpful and the value for the rooms themselves were good,..."

Pros: The staff were helpful and the value for the rooms themselves were good, despite lack of general ameneties.
Cons: The hotel was not just a 10 min walk away. there were no taxis around that area at the time, due to most of the area being submitted to roadworks and rennovations. defintely take either of the two buses as soon as you exit the station.

lack of aircondition, however later found out for this to be true of a majority of hotels in paris, unless you shell out more for the pricier hotels.
