"Hotel location is great: near shops and not far from all interesting places..."
Pros: Hotel location is great: near shops and not far from all interesting places (i did not use metro at all). free wi-fi!
Cons: Poor breakfast (as always in such hotels - be ready to bring something - cheese, for example), including tea/coffee, bread, butter.
you can hear everything what is happening in the corridor and sometimes the talks of your neighbours.

"The staff were ok they all just seemed to be in a bad mood when we were..."
Pros: The staff were ok they all just seemed to be in a bad mood when we were there.the sushi restaurant is really good on the corner.
Cons: They put us in a wrong room and told me that this couldnt be changed even though i had booked the room at least 3 months in advance, eventually got it changed for the second night. the room had a balcony that looked out into a very small light shaft containing all of the waste pipes from the other bathrooms so didnt smell the best. on the other side of the room we had the only lift of the hotel making it very noisy. the room was very hot and stuffy even in september so in the height of the season it would be too hot with no fans, air con or air circulation from the window to speak of. the room was very basic bed, minimal wardrobe hairdryer that didnt work and shower that soaked the floor because the curtain couldnt go all the way around. the room had a pretty big hole in the ceiling (presumably where something had leaked) but there was no attempts to block it up. even though i know this is a 2 star it felt worse than most of the no star hostels i have stayed in over the years. not worth 72 euros a night! and the breakfast, cereal, and bread rolls with jam costing 6 euros dont do it just go next door to the boulongerie and get your self something there, more than half the price.

 "Good location, close to montmartre"
Pros: Good location, close to montmartre.
Cons: The bathroom was far too small, you couldn't use the toilet and close the bathroom door at the same time. unbelievably noisy at night from traffic outside and other guests, unless you're able to sleep through a hurricane. minimum amount of wardrobe space, nowhere in the room to put anything else. i wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone unless you get your kicks out of confined spaces and sleep depravation.

"Ok you're not going to get great decor in a 2 star hotel, but it was way..."
Pros: Ok you're not going to get great decor in a 2 star hotel, but it was way cheaper than anywhere we looked, the room was a decent size for paris & was cleaned daily. great location in a quiet street within walking distance of opera shopping, place de la concorde, montmatre, close to metro, buses... ideal for a cheap place to crash for a weekend or longer break. some great cafes & restaurants very close by around trinite area.
Cons: Our room only had a window leading into a light shaft, so no idea what the weather was doing outside! it was fairly warm room in may so imagine it'd be horrid in summer, & no fan or air con in the room.
