Hotel Lafayette Paris  

Every thing in the room is very old and not very clean. There's bad air in the room so you have to open the window to sleep if you want to have good air.during sleeping. The pulic toilet is very very small for one person to sit in. But the bathroom is OK. Because the location , there's alway noise such as the sound of cars especially police cars, not quiet even at 10pm.

This is not a luxurious hotel. It is however exactly what it advertise it's self to be. Basic and very affordable comfortable, clean accommodation close to the centre of the city, providing a place sleep for sight seeing, back packers and tourists, very close to (100m approx) the Louis Blanc Metro station, great when you return from sight seeing late at night with sore feet. The immediate area has everything you need close by from supermarket and grocery stores a few of which are open till very late 1-2am to restaurants and carry out food, kebabs, Chinese, pizza etc. some open till 2am.Rooms are spartan; wardrobe, wooden floors, a sink, table and two chairs and a comfortable bed and bedding there is no TV, nor kettle, nor minibar, nor safe, nor fridge, it's a place to sleep, no breakfast however their is good sandwich bar next to Louis Blanc Metro and we had a travel kettle with us. Tea milk and sugar etc from the supermarket, tip, buy your water there for 40c, water is expensive in the tourist areas.Staff were great very helpfully and friendly. We would defiantly stay here again.

Really clean and friendly hotel- the two staff I met were really nice, especially when I tried speaking french to them. I think the only reason this hotel is 1 star is simply because the toilets and showers aren't in the rooms. The hotel is really clean and warm; I had some brilliant sleep there. Perfect for people my age (20) who are just out to see the world and have fun.

The location is great right next to the metro. Staff was not friendly. Rooms were not particularly nice. Beds were a little dirty. But also very cheap so everything must be considered

Good for the location because it is situated near Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est at the very center of the towwn, can be useful for somebody who doesn't know the town, an easy acces to all the directions

The staff at Hotel Lafayette are a friendly bunch. Polite, pleasant and somewhat chatty which would make any first time visitor to Paris feel welcomed.Dust: the hotel itself however was rather unclean. The floors in the room I stayed in was extremely dusty. I noticed this immediately when opened my suitcase on the floor, took my things out and then closed it back and lifted it to put it to one side when I noticed the extreme dust well embedded on the outer parts of my suitcase.Cleanliness: The room was not cleaned at all each day. The toilet and bathroom were not cleaned regularly. The toilet and shower are in extremely tight "rooms"; effectively a cupboard of some sort. I am 5"11' tall and I could not stand completely upright in the toilet without my head touching the ceiling. On the up side, I felt extremely tall :-)The bathroom is also in tight confines and could do with some regular cleaning. I found I had to clean the shower on every occasion I needed to shower each morning and night (understandably, I wouldn't have expected it to be cleaned at night). On one occasion, I informed the hotel staff that shower was very dirty with nasal extracts stuck ont he wall from a previous user who politely told me that it wasn't his job. I in turn I had to ask him for cleaning products to clean the shower room myself. Happy times!The hotel itself is conveniently located near a metro station (Louis Blanc Metro station) which can take you to pretty much most of Paris with adjoining lines. There are many cafes, fast foods walking distance to the canal. Nice to sit and have a drink or espresso by. There's also a nice bar/club called Sankofa which looked quite nice which is literally walking distance from the hotel. Overall, if the hotel is cleaned regularly (rooms, toilet and shower room), then it is an excellent place to stay for the price because it is well situated and the staff very nice. Also, if a visitor to Paris is arriving via Eurostar, Gere du Nord is not very far from the hotel; a short bus ride or a leisurely walk (if you dont have much luggage) from the station to the hotel.So, I would go back if it is cleaned more. If it remains the same, I would go back to The Hotel Lafayette.

This place was disgusting. There were stains on the blankets, rips in the sheets, blood stains in the bathroom, and the floor looked like it had never been swept. Not worth any money, do not stay here!

Hotel is 10 minutes walk from Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est. For Paris this must be one of the cheapest hotels. Very friendly staff. Small room with comfortable bed and small bathroom. A bit old, ugly ceiling, no shower in the room, but for sleeping and reading excellent. Small table and chair where you can have your breakfast that is not provided by the hotel but which you can buy in a bakery 50 metres away. Very close to metrostation and from there Paris is at your feet in short time. Also close to Parc des Buttes-Chaumont which is overlooked by tourists but should be visited because of its fantastic setting.I have slept very well here and after checking out I could leave my bag at the reception.

Room not very clean, broken furniture & no decoration. Showering facility ok but toileting facility wasn't very comfortable.

Pros: Good location and helpfull staff
Cons: Room was very cold and old facilities

very good value for money for travelers not eager to have full comfort but only a stay to sleep inside Paris.no tv or internet connection, room on street, quite noisy.comfortable bed & good heating single rooms at dormitory price conveniently located close to Gare du Nord

The hotel is located near the Metro-station Louis Blanc. The rooms are rather small and basic, beds are o.k. The staff is friendly, attentive and flexible. I didn´t have breakfast nor any other meal, i.e. no comment on kitchen.

The room was nice, clean enough and there was a water bassin in the room. The only thing that was really bad, was that the toilet paper was never refilled without us having to ask the staff and the toilet itself was very poorly maintained. In 5 days it wasn't cleaned once. The staff was friendly and all in all I was content with the stay.

Pros: Good location, near the louis blanc metro. cheap price
Cons: The toilet is very terrible, very dirty, terrible smell, even the bathroom, it's so so terrible. and it's very noisy, you can not sleep. they don't provide anything even a cup for brush your teeth. just choose it if you don't have enough money for ur trip and can use a dirty toilet.

Pros: A very good location of hotel, comfortable beds, friendly staff.
Cons: The only one negative thing i could find is unpleasant smell in the hotel.
