Pros: Staff very helpful and at the front desk 24/7. english speaking, and will take the time to explain directions/trains etc. will also keep bags secure behind desk after checkout for no extra cost.
Cons: Double room pretty basic but can't complain for the price.

Pros: Good location, adjacent to monmatre and near moulin rouge. metro only 50 metres away. rooms small but clean and all staff very friendly. we had a room overlooking the street and it was a bit noisy - no aircon, so needed to have window open to cool room and provide fresh air.
Cons: Breakfast - limited selection and very expensive (9 euro per person)

Cons: No air conditioner or tea/coffee making facilities in the room. you could purchase coffee 2euro for a very small cup from a machine in the foyer

"I rated the staff as fair but have to say that both female receptionists..."

Pros: I rated the staff as fair but have to say that both female receptionists were very pleasant as was the cleaning lady. however, on one of the evenings our electricity went out. i went downstairs to reception and the gentleman on reception was on a call. i seemed from the manner of his speaking and the length of the call that it was a personal call and he ignored me standing there. in the same time another guest (a white person) came down to inform reception about the same thing and he attended to that persona immediately, still ignoring me even though i had been standing there for a while.
Cons: The incident mentioned above with regard to the male person on reception.
it would be good if airconditioners could be installed.

"Housekeeper did a great job each day"

Pros: Housekeeper did a great job each day. montmarte is an interesting and vibrant part of town, so location good, if a little seedy (red light district very close by). very close to a metro station providing easy access to the rest of the city.
Cons: Tiny rooms, very thin walls, noisy drain pipes - anytime someone in a nearby room talked, walked, showered or flushed the toilet we knew about it! internet was expensive. staff on the front desk were a mixed bag - some very helpful, some really not.
