Pros: Staff was usually nice and helpful.
Cons: Room was on first floor on busy blvd, so a lot of street noise. "business center" does not mean borrowing the computer at the front desk - which is just a table anyway.

Pros: Our room was large, (for paris), and fairly quiet, very clean and newly remodeled and was soothingly appointed. the bathroom was small but modern and beautifully tiled. the staff was consistently helpful, friendly, and spoke english way better than we spoke french!
Cons: The shower was not well-designed and water leaked into the bathroom, but the staff said they would try to fix it. on our last day the tiny elevator broke, but would be fixed, and we use the stairs anyway. there were many cigarette butts in the flower-box outside our window, which should have been removed, but we forgot to inform the staff. it was no big deal, we would stay here again.

Cons: The hot water wasn't on for one day due to roadworks on the street in front of the hotel. this was somewhat compensated by the offer of a free breakfast.

Pros: The hotel was conveniently located just a couple blocks to the metro to get to any places you wanted to visit in the city. the room was simple, yet clean.
Cons: The website specifically said that parking was included, which was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel, as well as wireless internet in the rooms. when we checked in we were told parking was not included, and we had to park in a public parking garage several blocks away, at a cost of 23 euro per day. this added a lot to our costs and we probably would not have stayed here had we known this. also, wireless internet was available in the rooms on the 1st floor only, and we were on the 2nd floor. this was not specified either, so we had to take our laptop to the lobby anytime we wanted to get online.

Pros: Exceptionally helpful staff, who were polite and always in evidence. very clean room, comfortable beds, bright and well maintained. very good value.
Cons: If in a room facing the street, take earplugs as it can be a tiny bit noisy, but i am a very light sleeper.

Pros: Hotel saint louis bastille's location is excellent if you plan on using the metro to get around. it's only a 5 minute walk to the oberkampf station. the room was clean and adequate enough for 2 people.
Cons: Our toilet was constantly flushing throughout the night even though no one was flushing it. it flushed every 15-20 minutes and it was loud enough to wake me a couple of times. the walls are thin so you will hear everything. i was startled awake during the night because it sounded as if someone was opening our door but it was actually the room next to us. that's how thin the walls were. and if you get a room for two you might find that the bed is made up of two twin sized beds pushed together so you might want to stay away from the middle of the bed.
