Hotel Tamaris Paris    

We were on a 5-day trip to Paris. This hotel is located in a quiet street nearby a metro with direct connection to the city center. Also several restaurants (and bakery - for breakfast) nearby. Parking in front of the hotel is difficult to get, we reserved an underground parking a 5min walk from the hotel.The rooms are cleaned every day, fresh towels . Possibility to leave luggage during your last day in a storage room for free. Room was small for 3 persons, but that's no problem: this hotel is only for sleeping, not spending the day in your room. Price was very reasonable. If I would return to Paris the coming years, tI would first have a look at availability in this hotel.

we booked a triple room for three adults, we found a room with two beds. after protesting we were provided with a single room in addition .. but the price is greatly increased. cleaning was not always executed, towels for the shower there were not even on request. Director rude and arrogant.

the hotel was good value for money, very close to the Metro and the staff were very helpful with planning our activities.

Hello everybody! Well I must say that I am satisfied with the service and that it was a great place to stay.Everything from the first moment I stepped in went well, people from the are friendly and can guide you on whatever you might need. The rooms were always clean as well as the building itself. The location makes it a very quiet place and from there you can go fast and easy to most of the touristic and historic places, since the hotel is located really close to one of the metro stations.

The totally impression was good,- but I think the staff might have been a bit more helpful and positive when I needed some info about where to find a Internet cafe, while not bringing my own computer this time.

We stayed at the Tamaris Paris with my wife and me and two friends of us for a weekend.Arriving by car, the hotel was easy to find, located pretty closely to the Bvd Peripherique, the big highway that surrounds Paris, on the eastern side of Paris. Fortunately, there was no traffic noise in the hotel. If you travel by public transport, you find a metro station right in front of the hotel. Beware: This metro station has only one ticket machine and no ticket counter, so if the machine is broken, you have to walk up to the next station (500m) to find a working one and start your journey. Minor issue in my opinion.The hotel's parking lot, as offered on the web site, is in fact a row of payed public parking in the street where the hotel is located. This means that it depends on your arrival time if you find a spot to park your car. However, the parking situation did not seem to be too bad in the hotel's surroundings.The hotel's reception is open 24/7, so despite our late arrival at 2 a.m. we could check in without any problem. The reception staff speaks French and English, some of them do also speak German. The staff is very committed to pleasing the guests' demands and requests, for example we could easily arrange the next morning's breakfast to be delivered to our room instead of having to go down to the breakfast room (which is, on the other hand, very nice, as we could experience on the next morning).The staircase and the elevator are pretty small, but sufficient. The rooms were also quite compact, but we did not expect anything else for a hotel located in a big city like paris. The furniture isn't the newest, but gave us more than enough space to store all our stuff. The only negative aspect in the room is that one of the drawer's apparently was not cleaned prior to our arrival, we found empty water bottles in there.The bathroom is not very spacious, either, and the shower is only about 70x70cm big, but it's functional anyway, so we were more than happy with it.The breakfast consists of fresh rolls, croissants, butter and jam, complemented with corn flakes and yoguhrt. You can choose between hot chochlate and coffee as drink.We can recommend this hotel as very good base to discover Paris, in particular if you travel to Paris by car and dont want to spend too much on your hotel.

I really liked this room, it was clean and cosy, plus the receptionist was cheerful and helpful. I can only recommend this hotel!!!

Yes, the lift and rooms were small, and the shower tiny, with a curtain. Yes, the building is old. The wifi was only available in the small but well-lit and comfortable lobby, and the only TV programming in English was CNN. There was a phone in the room, but no alarm clock ... ask for a wake-up call. But it had been remodeled, our rooms were clean, and most importantly we slept very well, and my son is a light sleeper. The room was dark and being at the end of the hall, extremely quiet. There was plenty of hot water in the shower. The staff was pleasant and English was no problem. The neighborhood was inexpensive, being a working class one, which meant eating out locally for breakfast or dinner was very reasonable, and not a touristy experience, but a very Parisian one. The Metro 9 was a very easy 10 minute walk. If all you need is a place to sleep. I highly recommend the Tamaris. I did not notice any air conditioning, and the heat of the summer may be a problem. If you plan to spend some down time in your room, you may be disappointed, but I would definitely stay again, as this was great value for the money.

Cons: The was noises from rooms next to mine at night plus they should have adaptators to help clients

Pros: Very clean, friendly staff, close to metro line 1 - that takes you to the center in 10-15 min. saturday market nearby - nice place to visit for experience: great vines, cheeses, pates, bakery, seafood, etc
Cons: Has unresolved problems with wi-fi (that is only in the lobby), it was important to me. got wi-fi voucher from adjasent hotel. paid 68 euro for a night, that i think was a bit overprised, although in this visit to paris everything was much more expensive than 5 years ago!!

Pros: An amazing old school lift an nice period features, close to metro and bar europa on the corner has lovely friendly staff. but the room is very expensive for what u get an not all reception staff speak english we had to wait for the manager to sort out parking, which is free like stated on here but costs 5 euros.
Cons: Rooms are tiny. not a very nice surrounding area but if u get the metro to chateau de vinnces which is goin away from the city centre the area is amazing full of lovely restaurants an a lot cheaper and a lovely market on a sunday deff worth a trip, more of the real paris than the tourist side!

Pros: My wife first descibed this room as a harrypotter closet. close but by the end of our vacation we actually stayed in a london hotel boasting 4 stars which was cosiderably smaller.
the satff were excellent and made us feel at home . the location of the hotel was very close to the paris metro which made travel easy . there were a number of exellent restaurants near by. our european brakfast was excellent 3we tahnk the satff fopr their friendliness.

Cons: I had read that people had been refused accommodation because the hotel was full. so i emailed them to tell them of our time of arrival (about 20:00). i received an email back to say that the 2 rooms would be kept for us. we arrived at 20:30 to be told that the hotel had only one room, and, as it turned out was not of the standard booked. my partner and i were put up in the no star hotel next door. we were put in the tamaris the next day on the fourth floor. the lift to the fourth floor did not work. so we had to go the fifth floor and walk down. the lift was so small that it couldn't take 2 people and one suitcase. we paid the full price for the no star hotel. i do not recommend this hotel. go elsewhere.

Pros: Very clean, quaint and welcoming hotel with english speaking staff. good value for money and good location.
Cons: When we arrived back at the hotel in the late evening of the second night we found our room had been changed without our knowledge. the man at the desk couldn't offer an explanation as to why, nor could he find the key for the new room. he eventually found the key in the new room which had been left unlocked with all our belongings in.

Cons: Price gone up more than 50% in 4 years time, there is no value for money there.

Pros: The staff were very helpful (as long as you made the effort to speak some french). the hotel is about 100 metres from the nearest metro, which is line 1 (very convenient)
Cons: The walls are paper thin, and unfortunately on the second night teo french gentlemen decided to have a conversation for the whole night, which we heard with perfect clarity. (earplugs a must for a good nights sleep!!)

Cons: Room looked untidy, dust was everywhere which gave an impression that noone had been there for ages, 1 set of towel only while there were 2 of us staying there, towels were not change every day, room not tidied everyday, lack of hot water in the morning
