Standard Design Hotel enjoys a 3-star rating.

Public transportation is plentiful, thanks to the nearby Charonne Metro Station. Paris's famous Le Marais Area, Ile de la Cite and Ile St.Louis and Place de la République can all be reached on foot from this property. For a memorable Paris visit, be sure you see Place des Vosges. Highly recommended Le Parc de Bercy is just a short distance from here.

This property accommodates business professionals with a conference space. The building offers 37 rooms to choose from. If you're bringing the car it's nice to know that you can use paid parking.

Inside Standard Design Hotel's rooms, air conditioning keeps you cool when the mercury soars. Indoor smoking is forbidden. A wake-up service is offered with your stay. If online access is high-priority, you'll appreciate the in-room wireless internet access. Typically, a toilet, a bath and a bath or shower comprise bathroom facilities in the rooms.

"Nice place to stay at !"
The hotel is ideally placed, near La Bastille, only a few minutes walk from the metro station with line 1 (which takes you to all the main touristic attractions along La Seine) and two other lines that will easily take you other places as well. It's also near Le Marais and Place des Vosges.

The hotel is quite small, the hallways are funky and not spacious at all. The elevator is really tiny. But you don't live in the hallway so it's not really a bother. Be careful of the steps though, they are uneven so me and my friend almost tripped down the stairs a few times.

The room we booked (twin beds) was not really big but it was clean and spacious enough for a few days. The bathroom was on the smaller side but everything is small in Paris anyway. It was clean and I liked the design.

The staff was helpful with questions and very friendly. I didn't not eat their breakfast though, 15 euro was a bit on the pricey side to me for a breakfast. You can easily go eat in one of the streets café for cheaper than that.

The only "bad" thing about the hotel was that our room was on the main road rather than the side road the hotel's door is on. The main road is VERY noisy. The rooms are right above a café, which "terrasse" was full on a warm summer night, and there is also a lot of traffic, from police cars, to motorbikes to small trucks. You can't really sleep with the windows closed because if was so hot that night so....I would definitely go for the ear plugs ! Except if you can request a room on the other side of the hotel.

There was just another small thing. The button to flush the toilet was in metal, which gets easily dirty (you can see the finger prints, ect.) and it was not wiped at all. Or it didn't seem that way, which wasn't really great, the rest of the room was really nice and clean though.

I just didn't like how they used two people covers for twin beds, tucking the remaining of the cover under the mattress. It's very uncomfortable because your mattress becomes uneven from the fabric tucked underneath and you also feel trapped in a thigh cover. The bed was so well done that pulling the cover out was a challenge !

Overall, it was good stay to me ! Only small things but they didn't stay on my mind for long !

 "Staying near the Bastille"
The area near the Bastille does look a bit seedy but it is quite safe if rather 'lively' at night. We stayed in a double room facing away from the main street. The room wasn't large but was clean with complimentary toiletries. There was a complimentary bottle of water for the first night. We had breakfast included in the price and it was an extremely good buffet with everything from cereals, fruit juice, tea and coffee up to boiled eggs, toast, pain au chocolat, pain au raisin and croissants. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storage and a safe. It wasn't the quietest of stays but that was just the area. The only downside was that the wi-fi packed up in the hotel on the day before we left and some of the receptionists weren't very friendly.

 "Good Hotel"
Very good hotel for a 3 stars hotel , new and clean, great location, 5 min walk from Palace Bastile .we had a big room, i'm not sure all the rooms are the same, but they mention the room's size in the reservations details. the shower is big and comfortable. We didn't have breakfast, 15 EUR per person seemed too much. when we arrived they said we can have it for 10 EUR per person. but still we preferred picking up a good croissant from some "boulangerie" near by. Really nice bar under the hotel, not noisy (at least on winter time when all the windows are closed)We had a great price probably because it was off season.Recommended!

"Great design of room, very modern"
Pros: Great design of room, very modern. nice additional features such as ipod docking station, bathrobes, free wifi etc. we had a corner room which was very spacious. the staff were very helpful and we were allowed into our room before 2pm check-in time which was greatly appreciated. there are plenty of cafes and restaurants around for excellend food and drink. all in all a wonderful hotel, i highly recommend it
Cons: Our room was on the 1st floor so there was noise from the street throughout the day and night but it did not affect us too much, it is to be expected in a city!
