The Menilmontant Paris is on the Right Bank of the River Seine. This arrondissement is rather different from some of the others. Once a working class area, it is morphing into an area of music, culture, and nightlife. There are quite a few cafes and nightclubs in this area. You can hear almost every type of music there is on most evenings, and enjoy a drink as well. The Pere-Lachaise Cemetery is hugely popular with tourists. Many famous composers, writers, painters, and singers/musicians are buried here.
This arrondissement contains two districts known as Belleville and Menilmontant. A Paris neighborhood, Menilmontant is situated on a hill that faces out, giving a great view of the city. Belleville is also a Paris neighborhood, and hosts the second Chinatown in Paris. This district is multi-ethnic, and many artists live here. The Parc de Belleville and a School of Architecture also grace the streets of Belleville.
