        The rectangular Bassin de la Villette is the largest lake in Paris. At 800 meters in length and 70 meters in width, the lake begins at the Rue de Crimee and ends at the Place de Stalingrad. The Rue de Crimee bridge is the last in Paris that is hydraulically operated to enable ships to travel underneath it. Located in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, the lake connects the Canal de lOurcq to Canal Saint-Martin.
