Belleville is a neighborhood in Paris that was once an independent city until its annexation in 1860. The neighborhood today spans across four different arrondissement districts – the 10th and 11th and the 19th and 20th. Belleville has not one, but two Chinatowns and other cultural attractions. The Parc de Belleville is famous for its scenic gardens, meandering walkways and a panoramic view of the city from a perfectly situated hill. Belleville has its own school of architecture and has been featured in a number of motion pictures including “Casque d’or” and “Le Ballon Rouge”.
