The Grenelle neighborhood is located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris in the southwestern portion of the city. The regions history dates back centuries to 53 BC when a battle between the Roman legion and the Gaul took place here on the Grenelle Plain. While this left bank area is no longer a battleground, it is noted for some major Parisian attractions. The area is home to such destinations as the Tour Montparnasse, which is Paris tallest skyscraper, La Ruche, Musee Pasteur and Musee Bourdelle. The area was also the work site of the famous sculptor Constantin Brancusi.
