The Hôpital Quinze Vingts is a medical facility located at 28 rue de Charenton in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. The hospital itself is considered the country’s finest facility for eye care. Created originally in 1260 by Louis IX of France, the hospital was indeed founded to serve the blind. It initially had 300 beds, which were open to those, especially from the seventh crusade, who needed them. Although the original structure has since been added onto, the hospital continues on as a world famous institution of ophthalmology.
