Look to the Left Bank of the River Seine to find the Place d’Italie Paris. The southeast section of this district is where the main Chinatown of Paris can be found, possibly the largest such Chinatown in Europe. This is another arrondissement that is mostly a residential one, as well as a business district. While the tourist may not think there would be much of interest here, there are several points of interest that are well received by all visitors who see them.
Attractions of interest include the public square known as the Place d’Italie. There is a shopping mall here along with much of the business activity in the Paris area. The Paris Rive Gauche and the Bibliotheque Francois Mitterrand, or the National Library of France are both well worth a visit. You will also want to see the gare d’Austerlitz, the Butte-aux-Cailles, and the Les Olympiades, one of the tallest towers in Paris.
