Couches is a pretty village in the Saone et Loire province of Burgundy. The castle of Marguerite de Bourgogne in Couches also became her place of imprisonment when Henry X le Hutin disowned her in 1315. His army besieged the castle but the siege was later abandoned when the Wars of Religion broke out. The place was also an ancient Barony.
