Le Lude Hotels and Accommodation

Le Lude is a town in the Sarthe region of France, primarily known for the extraordinary castle located there. The castle was used as a fort as early as the 10th century by the Counts of Anjou, as a defense against Norman invasions. But, it is likely best known as the residence of the Daillon family, who held it from 1447-1685. Jehan de Daillon was a friend of Louis XI, and was the governor of Dauphine. Today, the castle is a popular tourist attraction, along with the many other castles located in the Loire valley of France.
