There are so many interesting religious structures that can be discovered and explored in France. However, contrary to the perception of a lot of people, not all of these structures are ancient. There are also modern religious buildings that are well worth the attention of any visitor. One of these is the Sainte-Jeanne d'Arc Church, which is one of the attractions that make up the tourism of Belfort.
A fairly modern addition to the city, the church is one of the most interesting and exciting pieces of architecture done in the modern times. Architect Mariel Lods' brainchild, the church is comprised of three separate concrete sections and can be seen to rise high above all the buildings that surround it. Completed at the end of the 1950s, the church building may have been subjected to the same criticisms as can be expected of modern structures, but now it is accepted as one of the contributors to the tourism of Belfort. Now, it is generally accepted and admired as part of the skyline of the city.
