Located in the suburbs of Paris, Charenton-le-Pont has one of the highest population concentrations in the Val de Marne and indeed in Europe. This area is connected to the Paris center by the aptly named Rue de Paris. The street was, and still is, an important connection for the capital to eastern France. It crosses a number of historic bridges such as the Pont de Charenton and also passes through the Bourg-du-Pont area with its lovely 18th and 19th century houses and buildings. You will likely travel between your EasyToBook.com hotel and Paris many times during your stay.
The Convent of Conflans is found in Charenton-le-Pont as well. It was built in 1657 on the grounds of a Benedictine Seminary. The convent was expanded a number of times through the 19th century, with much of the work being done from 1842 to 1844. The convent also has a beautiful park area, perfect for a relaxing stroll. Another site to visit is the Castle of Conflans, dating in parts to 1314. The gate, terrace, double staircase, and fountain are all classified as historic monuments. Another lovely example of 17th century architecture is the Antoine de Navarre house and pavilion, which are now part of the town’s government buildings.
