Fontaine de Vaucluse Hotels and Accommodation

Fontaine-de-Vaucluse is a little village known as the home of the famous Italian poet and humanist Francesco Petrarch. Inside the village are the Petrarch Museum where Petrarch was presumed to have lived and written his precious works. The Petrarch Column was built in Place de la Colonne to commemorate the poet’s 500th birthday. Musée d'Histoire, another interesting museum in the area shows the ‘dark years’ of German occupation in this place while the Romanesque Church of St Véran is the burial site of Bishop Cavaillon in the 6th Century. The Sorgue River and the Spring of Fontaine de Vaucluse are sites which show the village’s countryside.
