Auxerre is a commune located in central France in the Bourgogne region between Dijon and Paris. It's known for its excellent football club called Association de la Jeunesse Auxerroise. Auxerre is such a normal and typical town that it was chosen when a poll was done on "the average French town". Auxerre is famous for their wines including Chablis, Irancy and Saint-Bris-le-vineux.
Some of the industry Auxerre is involved in are woodworking, food production and batteries. Many tourists enjoy visiting these factories. Other sites of interest are the Cathedral of St. Étienne, a Gothic style church with stained glass windows from the 11th century, Abbey of Saint-German, a crypt with many French mural paintings, Museum of Natural History and the Clock tower, which is in the Old Town.
