Summer in Bernau is very relaxing for walks through the Black Forest. There are plenty of activities for the more adventurous. Paragliding on the nearby hills, swimming, boating and windsurfing in the nearby lakes of Schluchsee and Titisee. In the winter you can go skiing, sledge, or snowboard over the hills surrounding the village. There are also many other skiing areas nearby.
