Stuttgart is a great city full of many architectural and cultural splendors. In many senses, it can be considered one of the jewels of Germany, and is well worth a visit by any traveler interested in seeing historical landmarks, as well as attractions renowned for their beauty. The Wilhelmpalais Library is one of the more notorious attractions in Stuttgart, serving as one of the world’s foremost examples of Neo Classical architecture and dating back to the 19th century.

The library was once a palace used as a residence for the oldest daughters of King Wilhelm I. Later, it became the residence of the second King Wilhelm himself before being ransacked in the early 20th century by revolutionaries. Like many of Stuttgart’s buildings, it suffered heavy damage in World War II, but has since been painstakingly restored to its original glory. Since it functions now as a public library, visitors are free to move about the interior as they please.
