Art galleries are a very popular attraction to the lovely countries in Europe. When thinking of going to art galleries in Europe the first place that usually comes to mind is France; however Germany has some of the oldest and best in the world. The city of Munich is home to one of these oldest and lovely art galleries called the Alte Pinakothek. The Alte Pinakothek was built back in the year 1836 and is filled with many wonderful paintings and other items from the 14th through the 18th centuries.
The Alte Pinakothek like so many lovely German buildings was heavily damaged in the years during the Second World War. These parts have been reconstructed but are still visible from the outside. This lovely old gallery is a wonderful place to go to learn all about important German art history and to get to see some very lovely items from years past.
