This building is essentially a palace in the Neo Gothic style, something fairly typical for the region, but a grand specimen nonetheless. The palace sits on a large body of water that reflects its imposing façade skyward, causing it to seem to stretch to infinity. Originally created as a home for gifted students receiving paid scholarships from the King of Bavaria, the palace of Maximilianeum soon became the home of the Bavarian parliament in the earthly 20th century.
