Propylaea Monument Munich

The archway is considered a masterpiece of design, constructed entirely out of Pentelic marble with small details rendered in the unforgiving medium of Eleusian blackstone. Sadly, the entrance was never fully completed, thanks to the outbreak of the Peloponnesian War, but perhaps because of that, it’s been able to survive relatively intact in its unfinished, albeit imposing, state throughout the centuries. Fans of both history and art alike owe it to themselves to experience this staggering achievement, and one of the most popular attractions Munich has to offer.
