    Isar Tower Details

Some of the most traditional German architecture and design, as well as some of the beautiful parks and green spaces in the city, can be seen around the Isar Tower. The Isar Tower, also known as the Isartor, was originally built in 1337 as a tower gate to protect the city and control exit and entry, and it is one of the three existing tower gates still standing today.Inside the facility there is a café, as well as a museum dedicated to the comedian Karl Valentin. Even a simple stroll around the Isartor will provide lots to look at, since a huge fresco added in 1835 provides a pictorial history of an ancient German battle.
