The amazing exhibits of this museum are part of the larger Mineralogischen Staatssammlung. The larger faculty is home to various research and exploratory facilities associated with the world of minerals, including crystals, meteors and various gems. The Reich der Kristalle Museum or World of Crystals houses a vast collection of gems open to the public.
Reich der Kristalle Museum dates from a 1972 collection. It hosts special exhibits as well. Of particular interest to its visitors are the Diamonds that were once property of King Ludwig of Bavaria, as well as the infamous Russian emeralds. Gaze with admiration at various gems from Bavaria, the Alps and the former USSR. You will also learn about the history, development and structure. There are mobile installations and models to help inform you.
