Pros: The hotel is in an excellent location, on a quiet side road but very close to one of the main shopping streets, buses and trams.
you are able to get a tram almost directly from the airport to the hotel ( a very short bus ride to the tram stop from the aiport).
the staff were extremely helpful with any questions, and advised us that the number 100 bus drove the same route as the sightseeing tour, so managed to see all of the sights at our own pace. i would definitely recommend buying the all day pass for public transport, which is nothing like british public transport, clean, efficient and regular.
also recommend not buying a piece of the berlin wall from checkpoint charlie as we found out it is about 5 times more expensive than any of the other souvenier shops.
the exotic museum is not what you would expect but the bar there has an excellent happy hour.
there is also a little bar called kings pub, near to the gucci shop, well worth a visit.
Cons: The hotel was good value for the price we paid, but would not say it is a 3 star. there are no toiletries or tea/coffe facilities in the rooms. (this may sound petty but if you have had a big night out and missed breakfast you can't have a drink!)

Pros: Really good value for money. the room was very nice with a good bathroom. it has good transport links and good restaurants nearby. the staff were very helpful and there is free internet access.

Cons: Twin beds were right next to each other... odd for two males. bathroom floor was extremely slippery when wet - a matt for wet feet wouldn't go a miss!
