Pros: The shower was great.
Cons: Pumping noise from the toilet all night made it difficult to sleep. the dark decor doesn't help lighten up the room in winter.

Pros: Perfect location, very near the u-bahn, plus a great value overall. many neighborhood type restaurants within walking distance. hotel staff were very friendly and helpful answering questions. although axel has three hotels in europe, it did not feel like a chain, but more like a smaller hotel. plus each floor has a computer available with internet.
Cons: The only negative, and these are minor, is that the towels were very thin. and the room could use a bit more storage for clothes.

Cons: The steam room was not working and the jacuzzi was not very warm. these could both be improved.

Pros: Staff are really friendly and helpful. rooms are pretty small but have nice decor. the hotel has a good vibe about it.

Cons: Reason for booking axel hotel was because of spa facilities but on arrival note in elavator informed me spa was closed for two days for cleaning very dissapointed

Pros: Excelent location and cool hotel. original "heterofriendly gay hotel"
Cons: The spa area was dirty and not attended by anyone, the jacuzzi was very cold and the steam sauna too hot. the cleaning of the room during our stay was very poor, no ameneties replacement.

Pros: Good price and a good location. the hotel is clean and despite some problems with slamming doors it is generally quiet and comfortable.
Cons: The hotel is a bit too 'designer' i.e. the look of the place seems to have been more important than the comfort of guests. there is lots of black paint and mirrors in the corridors and rooms to make it seem 'stylish' but they have ignored basic things like providing enough storage space in the relatively small bedrooms and more than one dressing gown and slippers in a romm clearly meant for two.

Pros: The location is quite good as it is very close to the subway. however, if you arrive berlin by train (as i did), you have to switch to s bahn and then u bahn before getting to the hotel. the room also look new and clean. the bed is quite comfortable but the pillow is way too flat to be comfortable.
Cons: The main color scheme of the toilet in the room is black and it is somewhat too dark. the design of the standing shower also needs improvement as there is no barrier or whatsoever to stop the water leaking out from the shower room.
